Spruce Run Health Care Outreach Grows

Recognizing the important role the health care sector plays in the lives of people impacted by abuse, Spruce Run continues to develop our Health Care and Elder Abuse Advocacy Program.

To date, we have

• Provided outreach and materials at health care facilities throughout Penobscot County
• Participated in Health Cares About Domestic Violence Day, a national event sponsored by the Family Violence Prevention Fund during Domestic Violence Awareness Month
• Organized Lunch & Learns on domestic abuse at Penobscot Valley Hospital
• Attended a week-long national training on health care, domestic abuse, and sexual assault
• Presented to nursing students at area colleges and universities
