Resources

Father-SonAt Spruce Run-Womancare Alliance, we offer the following resources and services:

  • 24-Hour Hotline
The hotline is free, and confidential—and you can call us anonymously.  Family members, friends, co-workers, or other service providers are welcome and encouraged to call the hotline for support and information too, and to find out how you can help someone you care about.
  • Advocacy
We know it’s hard to figure out what questions to ask or what’s expected of you, and that it can seem overwhelming when you’re facing a stack of forms that need to be filled out. That’s why our advocates are available to offer support and information about the legal and social service systems.
  • Legal Services
If you’re being abused, the legal system can be helpful. It also can be confusing, overwhelming, and intimidating—especially if you’re unfamiliar with it. We offer a variety of services to help you navigate the legal system.
  • Safety Planning
Achieving real, lasting safety takes a lot of time and a lot of work, and there may be significant challenges and hard choices to make. We know your situation is unique and that making changes can be frightening and hard to do. We’ll work on a plan with you.
  • Support Groups
Support Groups are held once a week and offer a chance to talk, make friends, share experiences, and get encouragement and understanding. It’s a time to listen, support, share experiences, learn from each other and help each other gain strength and perspective.
  • Shelter
If the Spruce Run-Womancare Alliance shelter isn’t right for you, we’ll work with you to find a different shelter or another safe place to be while you figure out the best plan for you or your family.
  • Transitional Housing
Spruce Run-Womancare Alliance’s Transitional Services and Housing program helps individuals and families achieve those goals and build lasting support networks.
  • Help for Children
You’re very important to us, and so are your children. We know they’re affected by domestic violence in a variety of ways, and we can help with play and support groups that make it easy for kids to be kids and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Resource Directory
At a time in your life where you aren’t sure where to turn, we can provide you with a directory of resources—programs, names, and contact information—to put you in touch with the people who can help make a difference in your life.
